Placentia recognizes centennial art winners and introduces new equipment mechanic

The City of Placentia recognized winners of its Centennial Art Contest at the July 21 meeting and welcomed a new equipment mechanic to the public works team.

Community Services staff said the contest received 18 entries celebrating Placentia’s 100‑year history and thanked the Placentia‑Yorba Linda Unified School District and Centennial Committee judges. Winners received a $100 Visa gift card and a certificate; selected works will be displayed at City Hall through the week.

City staff also introduced equipment mechanic Guillermo Milan, who gave brief remarks saying he was ‘‘really happy to be here’’ and that he brings 18 years of experience in equipment repair, including prior work for the City of Tustin. Council and attendees welcomed the new hire.
