Culbertson council adopts resolution routing Federal Highway No. 22 along Hedderich Avenue

On March 7, 1933, the Culbertson City Council adopted Resolution No. 65 authorizing the routing of Federal Highway No. 22 through the town along Hedderich Avenue and approving conditions required by the State Highway Commission and the Bureau of Public Roads.

The resolution states that, in exchange for the highway construction and routing, the city “hereby agrees . . . that it will not, in the future, permit encroachments on the right of way of said above mentioned street, nor will it pass any ordinances or laws fixing a speed limit on the above mentioned street of under 25 miles per hour, nor will it allow the erection of signs, semaphores or signals that will give preference to local routes which intersect with above mentioned street, nor will it slow up, hinder or delay traffic on the above mentioned street.” The mayor signed the resolution as approved by the council.
