Culbertson council updates personnel, bonds and authorizations across 1932 meetings

Throughout 1932 the Culbertson Town Council took a series of personnel and finance actions recorded in its minutes. On Jan. 4 the council reduced Town Marshall W.F. Wood's salary to $50.00 per month on a motion by Alderman George Cooper seconded by Alderman H.H. Bruegger. Later, on May 10, the mayor announced appointments and fixed salaries: W.F. Wood was named Town Marshall and Street Commissioner and Water Commissioner at $75.00 per month (bond $1,000); Hans Smith was appointed Town Treasurer, Town Clerk and Water Collector at $200 per year with specified bonds.

The council approved bonds for the clerk‑treasurer, designated the Culbertson State Bank as official depository, and granted W.F. Wood two weeks' vacation with pay. The minutes show a sequence of actions on the town health officer: a motion in June to suspend Dr. C.J. Munch for economy, an initial Sept. record regarding appointment at $5/month, and a later Nov. 9 motion rescinding prior language and appointing Dr. Munch to begin Nov. 1 at $10.00 per month. On Nov. 9 the treasurer was also instructed to pay a matured $2,000 water‑works bond and $830 interest.

These items were handled across regular and special meetings; the minutes document motions, approvals of claims and supporting bookkeeping steps but do not include employment contracts or detailed personnel files.
