The Parks & Library Committee on Feb. 19 confirmed part of the Summer Reading Program lineup and discussed a volunteer work party to prepare the park for spring.
Committee members recorded that the Museum of Natural and Cultural History is scheduled to appear on Aug. 1 as part of the Summer Reading Program. The committee is waiting to hear back from "Caesar the no drama llama" about a set date; members also suggested other speakers and activities including a plant-potting activity and a potential appearance by Don Lion from the OSU Master Gardener program.
Separately, the committee discussed planning a park work party to clean up the area around the Halsey sign and ready the baseball field for spring. No date was selected; the city will announce the volunteer opportunity when the work party date is chosen and encouraged interested volunteers to contact City Hall.
Next steps: Committee members will continue to confirm speaker dates for the Summer Reading Program; City Hall will post the park work party date when decided.
