Commissioners approve consent agenda, set schedules and hear county updates

The Larimer County Board of County Commissioners approved the consent agenda 2-0 during its July 21 administrative matters meeting. The consent package included: an amendment to a Department of Human Services contract with the Early Childhood Council doing business as Northern Colorado Kids Thrive (no additional cost); a professional services agreement for geotechnical consulting and materials testing; Perkins and Will design work orders for the ranch events complex and acquisition center; reappointments to the Natural Resources Advisory Board; two special‑event liquor licenses; landfill air emissions and treasurer semiannual reports; three 2025 tax stipulations; and three resolutions calling elections for public improvement districts.

Sarah Martin walked commissioners through the schedule for July 27–Aug. 2, noting work sessions on the housing action plan, planning and infrastructure meetings, and several public and hybrid meetings in Fort Collins, Loveland and Steamboat Springs.

County manager Lorenda Volker briefed the board on partnerships with the NoCo Foundation and CSU Extension and highlighted the pending opening of a new transfer station and landfill operations scheduled for Aug. 3. Chair Jody Shab McNally and staff reiterated county guidance on safe lithium‑battery disposal and noted the county’s recycling and hazardous‑waste programs remain available.
