Town sets Aug. 4 public hearing for proposed Seyda Hill TIF district

The Old Orchard Beach Town Council set a public hearing for Aug. 4, 2026 to consider designation of the Seyda Hill municipal Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district and a development program with a proposed credit enhancement agreement involving CHA Builders LLC. The proposed district would cover approximately 56 acres and would be considered under Chapter 206 of Title 30-A of the Maine Revised Statutes.

Council emphasized this meeting is to receive public comment on the district designation and the related development program. The council set the hearing date and approved the motion to schedule the hearing. Additional details about the proposed development program and the credit enhancement agreement were not provided at length during the July 21 meeting; staff said the August public hearing will be the forum for formal presentation and public input.
