The Marshall County Board of Commissioners voted July 21 to modify a contract with the Northwest Regional Development Commission (NWRDC) so the county’s Solid Waste Plan work will run through Jan. 1, 2027. Environmental Services Administrator Josh Johnston presented the request and the Board approved the change by recorded motion (M/S/C – Nybladh, Bring (5,0)).
Johnston told commissioners the contract modification shifts the plan-writing timeline from an earlier June 15, 2026 target to the new January 2027 deadline to accommodate the NWRDC’s schedule and completion needs. No dollar amounts for the modification were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The extended timeline is intended to allow the regional contractor to finish deliverables for Marshall County’s Solid Waste Plan; the Board did not place additional conditions on the extension at the meeting. The Board’s approval authorizes county staff to proceed with the amended contract and timeline.
