The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2026-47 on a motion and second to adopt the final plat for the Claussen Bike Subdivision.
Jared Lasser, regional planning staff, told the board the project splits an existing two-lot configuration into separate ownership so that a third home has its own lot. "The Claussen Bike Subdivision was a two-lot deal back in the 1980s on Iowa City Road," Lasser said. He described a 33-foot easement that provides access to Iowa City Road via an existing driveway and said the plat was reviewed with no major comments; staff recommended approval as submitted.
The board moved and seconded the resolution and approved it. The action will allow the subdivided parcel to be recorded under the county's subdivision regulations.
The approval followed the planning staff recommendation and dealt only with the final plat; any future development on the lots remains subject to applicable permits and codes.
The board also handled several routine administrative items later in the session, including claims and personnel actions.
