Planning Board delays Most Holy Trinity Cemetery planting plan after applicant withdraws proposed plantings

The Planning Board reviewed a site plan and special permit modification for Most Holy Trinity Cemetery on July 8. Planner Will Edwards summarized the June 17 public hearing, noting no public speakers and one letter of support in the file. Edwards said the applicant emailed on June 29 requesting removal of previously proposed plantings because bamboo and giant cane are difficult to eradicate and may require repeated removals.

Agent and land surveyor Patrick Hines responded to Board questions. The Board concluded the application is not ready for approval. Members agreed a modified plan must include revegetation of the non‑disturbance buffer and that the Planning Department should consult with the Natural Resources Department on acceptable plantings. The Board said it will determine whether a second public hearing is required once the modified plan is submitted.

The applicant will need to provide a revised submission addressing the revegetation plan and related details before the Board considers approving the modification.
