Sawyer County board approves two rezones, denies third after zoning committee recommendation

The Sawyer County Board approved two rezoning requests and denied a third during the zoning committee report.

Supervisor Buckles presented the zoning committee's recommendations. Rezone 26-008, a request to change 6.37 acres from Agricultural-1 to Residential Recreational-1 to allow additional splits and new residential lots, was recommended by the town of Hayward and the zoning committee; the board approved the motion after a second and chair's call for the vote.

The board then approved rezone 26-009, a request to reclassify four 1.53-acre parcels (total 6.12 acres) from Residential Recreational-1 to Commercial-1 to allow additional permitted commercial uses; the town of Hayward and the zoning committee recommended approval.

Rezone 26-011, a request to rezone 0.57 acres from Residential-1 to Commercial-1 to allow an existing accessory structure to remain as commercial storage, was denied by the town of Hayward and recommended for denial by the zoning committee. Supervisor Cecil moved to deny 26-011 and the board voted to deny the application.
