Council records sewer-line propane leak patched; library furnace replaced

Doug Finnicum, a council member, reported that gas detected in the sewer line in the alley behind Town Hall resulted from a propane service line leak. According to the minutes, the line has been patched and will be replaced in the spring with a plastic service line.

Finnicum also reported he found a cracked heat exchanger on the furnace in the library basement; he installed a new furnace and removed the old boiler unit and water heater. The minutes record these maintenance actions but do not show a separate motion or funding authorization tied to the work.
