Council member Lynn Labatte reported that garbage service was operating satisfactorily and that the volume of garbage has decreased since the closure of Chile Peppers and because the Coach is no longer preparing food. In response, the council agreed to reduce the town garbage charge by one unit.
The council also discussed creating a form for tire disposal and reviewed fee arrangements. The consensus recorded in the minutes is that the tire-disposal fee will be a separate charge from the landfill fees; the minutes list the landfill fee as $25 per truckload or $10 per pickup load in connection with Ordinance No. 183.
General journal vouchers #120 and #121 were approved and signed, and the council approved the Dec. 5, 1994 minutes earlier in the meeting. The minutes do not record the exact dollar amount represented by a single garbage “unit,” nor do they record a formal motion for the garbage charge change; they record only that the council agreed to the reduction and that a tire-disposal form will be worked up for later action.
