Historic District Commission approves minutes and multiple property applications

The Historic District Commission on July 20 approved the June 1 meeting minutes and a slate of property applications by voice vote.

Commission members moved quickly through routine items. A motion to approve the prior minutes passed after a second and a voice vote.

Applications approved included a new traditional-style garage door and driveway work at 210 Marcus Street; a request at 512 Strand to substitute a composite siding product (presented as similar in appearance to cedar because of supply and cost constraints); an interior remodel and bay‑window bump‑out at 200 Fred Avon that keeps the existing roofline; and an enclosure for a propane tank at 101 South Street. Each application was discussed briefly for compatibility with district standards and then approved by motion and voice vote.

The commission also approved the Bloomfields’ application for 103 Tredebon — a plan that adds a second‑floor bay bump‑out toward the river, partially encloses an existing carport, and repaints the house in a palette the applicants said matches historic details.
