Ike's Pond: Lion's Club donations, trout stocking and May ribbon-cutting

Ken Forbregd and volunteers reported steady fundraising for Ike's Pond and ongoing grant applications throughout 2021. Council minutes show the Lion's Club received significant donations for the project, completed installation of a latrine and kiosk, and planned community events tied to the pond.

In March and April council records indicated additional work: water testing was complete and the kiosk was expected to be ready; the town scheduled a ribbon-cutting for May 15. At the May meeting the council recorded that approximately 600 rainbow trout (6–8 inches) had been planted and that the Lion's Club was pursuing a grant for a fishing dock.

Council approved electrical/floodlighting for the pond parking lot (an LED floodlight at $16.48/month quoted by MDU) and discussed site maintenance and public-safety signage. The Town and volunteers also coordinated fundraising events — including a planned ice-skating party and a community feed — to support remaining balances owed to contractors.

Next steps: organizers planned the ribbon-cutting ceremony and continued grant fundraising for dock and long-term maintenance.
