Airport representatives and the Airport Board provided regular updates to the council in 2020 on lease agreements, capital plans and upcoming procurement for engineering services.
Council received a Business Operation and Management Agreement, capital improvement plan drafts and hangar-lease materials and asked the town attorney to review documents before final approval. The council approved submitting CARES Act funding that would provide $20,000 for airport maintenance and later approved soliciting RFQs for an airport engineer with a five-year RFQ cycle.
Toward year’s end the minutes record that Anacoco Towers received a permit from the Airport Board for constructing a tower in the Airport Affected Area; the proposed tower height recorded in minutes was 166 feet. The Airport Board also discussed a CIP update, possible construction of a 40x60 building and purchase of snow-removal equipment.
Next steps: the council expects recommended RFQ responses and lease-agreement packets to be returned for council review and for the Airport Board to bring revised leases to the town for approval.
