Volunteers brief Robbinsville council on holiday displays and festival plans

Representatives of a local volunteer group described plans for the town's upcoming holiday events and asked the council for continued support and coordination.

The volunteer said the committee organizes displays around town, the cookie crawl, parade and tree lighting, and partners with Duke Energy and CDOT to address lighting and power-pole work. “We're just wanting to be here and show our support and just be a part of,” the volunteer said, explaining the group's role as a community-led decorating committee.

Council members thanked volunteers for their work and confirmed timing for events: lighting on Friday from about 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the parade and cookie crawl events the following day. Staff confirmed efforts to place flyers and that more snowflakes and decorations would be installed in coming days.

The council closed public comment after the update and moved to old business.
