Supervisor Charles J. Peter and the Schodack Town Board on July 9 adopted a series of personnel resolutions affecting the town transfer station and summer youth program.
The board adopted Resolution 2026-192 to create a full-time Foreman position at the Transfer Station and then authorized internal postings for the Foreman and Operator positions (Resolutions 2026-193 and 2026-194). The board also amended prior personnel resolutions to add three substitute counselors for the Schodack Day Camp: Abby Lussier, Michael Michel and Joshua Zimmerman (Resolution 2026-195). All votes on these items were recorded as 4 Ayes, 0 Noes.
In a separate appointment, the board appointed Jason Colliton as Transfer Station Foreman pursuant to Article 7 Section 140 of the Highway Law, subject to final approval by the Rensselaer County Civil Service Commission; the appointment is effective July 10, 2026 (Resolution 2026-197). The board likewise appointed Nicholas Marchese as Transfer Station Operator I/II under the same statutory authority and subject to civil service approval, also effective July 10, 2026 (Resolution 2026-198). Both appointments were adopted unanimously.
Why it matters: The personnel changes formalize new supervisory capacity at the transfer station and replenish seasonal youth-program staffing ahead of ongoing summer operations. The appointments are subject to required county civil service approvals and follow standard internal posting and hiring procedures.
What's next: The internal postings authorized by the board will be administered by Human Resources Director Kerrie D. Joiner, and civil service confirmation is pending for the Highway Law appointments.
