Bend MPO authorizes FY27 liability insurance renewal, board grants retroactive approval

MPO staff told the policy board the MPO maintains annual general and auto liability insurance policies on a fiscal-year schedule and that staff had already procured coverage after quotes arrived too late for the June meeting. The board considered a retroactive authorization for the FY27 renewal.

A board member moved to authorize the MPO manager to approve the contract renewal in substantially the form presented and to take all steps necessary to acquire coverage not to exceed $4,394.25; another member seconded. The board approved the motion by voice vote. The chair announced the motion passed.

Staff said the renewal is expected to reduce the premium by roughly 10–11% after a review of coverages and that staff will continue to work with the city risk manager and the MPO’s insurance agent to identify possible cost savings.
