Claiborne Parish School Board approves salary schedule, organizational chart and personnel actions

At its July 9, 2026 meeting in Homer, the Claiborne Parish School Board approved a package of administrative and personnel items proposed by Superintendent Chris Brooks. The board approved the 2026–27 salary schedules and an organizational chart for audit purposes after motions from Tommy Davidson and seconds from Yolanda Coleman; both measures passed on a 9–0 vote. The board also approved a coaching and activity supplement at the same scale as the prior school year, following a motion by Davidson and a second by Linda Knox.

Chris Brooks, superintendent and secretary to the board, presented the personnel report included in the board packet. The minutes list multiple certified hires effective July 1, 2026, including Hannah Sanders (Hay Elem — Principal), Felicia Harris (Homer Elem — Principal), Kimberly Gros (Homer Elem — Assistant Principal), Amy Scriber (Summ — Counselor), Joy Rowell (Summ — Master Teacher), Hannah Elam (Summ — Literacy Interventionist), Christy Coleman (Summ — Assistant Principal), Anjanette Bailey (Homer Elem — Master Teacher), and Jamie Lewis (Homer Elem — Literacy Coach). Classified and support hires recorded included Tabitha Moss (Supervisor Secretary) and Reba Rupert (Tax Collector), effective July 1, 2026.

The personnel section also records resignations: Michelle Newton (Homer Elem, Literacy Coach) effective June 18, 2026; Gisele Cooper (Homer Elem, Teacher) effective June 18, 2026; Amber Barton (Homer Elem, Teacher) effective July 2, 2026; LaDarien Amos (Homer Jr, Teacher) effective June 25, 2026; Shonora Johnson (Homer Jr, Teacher) effective June 25, 2026; Jennifer O’Donnel (Homer Jr, Teacher) effective June 30, 2026; and Amber Wyatt Urey (Summ, Para) effective June 30, 2026. The minutes do not provide salary amounts or replacements for every listed vacancy.

The board recorded upcoming calendar items including professional development days on July 30–31, a Maintenance Committee meeting on Aug. 6 at 5:30 p.m., and board qualifying Aug. 5–7. The meeting adjourned with signatures from Perry Anderson, board president, and Chris Brooks, secretary.
