Darcey Cowardin, Public Health Nurse Manager, informed the Board of Commissioners that the county’s public health staff must move from the Glenrock Hospital District Clinic facility to the Oregon Trail Clinic by Aug. 1, 2026; Memorial Hospital of Converse County (MHCC) will provide a lease for the space. Following discussion, the board approved a Lease and Service Agreement with MHCC for office space at 525 E. Birch Street in Glenrock at $700 per month for a one‑year term.
The board also approved a Community Health Needs Assessment agreement with Professional Research Consultants to conduct the assessment for a total cost of $21,500; Converse County will pay 50 percent of that cost. The assessment will be completed under a one‑year term as described in the agreement.
Separately, Memorial Hospital of Converse County Behavioral Health representatives Dr. Kristie Sellers and Alex Napier outlined plans to deploy OneWyo opioid settlement funds, Responsible Gambling funds and Wyoming Public Health Prevention funds for behavioral health services, naloxone availability, suicide prevention and partnership work with community organizations; MHCC has been invited to participate in a Bridges to Recovery pilot program. The board approved a $262,230 Prevention grant agreement with the Wyoming Department of Public Health, term through June 30, 2028.
