Catherine, a communications lead for the Legal Services Corporation’s outreach team, presented the communications update and highlighted recent campaigns and partnerships.
Catherine told the committee that the April budget request and related letters of support from law schools, corporate counsel and attorneys general were used to emphasize LSC’s bipartisan value. She said the communications team emphasized the veteran services clinic toolkit with an ongoing social campaign and that the toolkit has been covered in media outlets.

Maria Deboubier, communication strategist, described partnerships with federal agencies—participating with the Federal Trade Commission on a consumer‑protection webinar and collaborating with the Department of Health and Human Services on an outreach campaign—and the team’s work to coordinate messaging across grantees and partners such as Equal Justice Works and the National Center for Medical‑Legal Partnerships.
Committee members asked that the slide deck be distributed to the board and suggested time to discuss the materials at the Louisville meeting and around the upcoming New Orleans tech conference. The committee then moved into a closed session to consider Leaders Council nominees.
