Sawyer County board approves two rezonings, denies another

The Sawyer County Board considered three zoning applications brought forward from the zoning committee and took three separate actions.

Rezone 26-008: the board approved a request to rezone 6.37 acres from Agricultural 1 to Residential Recreational 1 to allow additional splits and residential construction. The town of Hayward and the county zoning committee recommended approval; a motion to approve was seconded and the board voted in favor.

Rezone 26-010: the board approved rezoning four 1.53-acre lots (total 6.12 acres) from Residential Recreational 1 to Commercial 1 to permit additional commercial uses. The town of Hayward and the zoning committee recommended approval; a motion to approve was seconded and adopted by voice vote.

Rezone 26-011: the board denied a request to rezone 0.57 acres from Residential 1 to Commercial 1 that sought to allow accessory structures to remain as a commercial storage building. The town of Hayward and the Sawyer County Zoning Committee both submitted resolutions of disapproval; the board moved and seconded to deny the application and the motion carried.
