Hastings Public Schools adopts revised 4000‑series policies; Policy 4029 tabled

The Hastings Public Schools Board on Jan. 19 adopted a resolution to update the first half of the district’s 4000‑series policies, but held Policy 4029 for additional review after discussion with the Hastings Education Association.

Superintendent Dr. Christopher Prososki reviewed the set of revised policies and told the board that Policy 4029 would be pulled for further discussion following consultation with the HEA. Board member Jodi Graves moved to approve the resolution adopting the revised policies excluding Policy 4029; Sharon Brooks seconded the motion. The board approved the resolution by unanimous roll-call vote of members present.

Board members discussed the changes during the presentation but did not record additional amendments at the meeting. The district will schedule further consideration of Policy 4029 in a future meeting or work session.
