Longfellow students perform as board hears after‑school clubs update

Longfellow Elementary Principal Irina Erickson presented to the Hastings Public Schools Board on Jan. 19 about after‑school clubs and activities at Longfellow. Superintendent Dr. Christopher Prososki introduced Principal Erickson, and students from the Longfellow Ambassadors sang two songs for the board, including the Longfellow Character Club song.

Erickson described the district’s after‑school offerings and the role of student leadership through the Ambassadors program; board members asked questions and held a brief discussion about program participation and support. Board member Jim Boeve thanked recent donors during the consent agenda discussion.

The Spotlight on Learning highlighted extracurricular engagement at Longfellow and provided the board with a direct look at student performances and club activities; no formal actions were taken on the presentation.
