The Saddle Brook Township Council moved to table Ordinance 18-06-26, which would have established a resident-parking permit program for Leister Avenue, after additional revisions were requested.
During roll call on the motion to table, the council recorded affirmative votes from Councilman Garrett, Councilman Akamando, Councilwoman Sanchez, Councilwoman Mazur and Council President Zimler; the motion to table carried and the ordinance remains tabled for future action.
Separately, the council approved a consent agenda of routine items by a single motion. Resolution No. 6, a payment-of-bills resolution, was taken and voted on separately; Councilwoman Mazur recused herself from that vote as noted by the clerk, and the resolution passed with the remaining councilmembers voting in favor.
No formal final action on the Leister Avenue ordinance was taken at the meeting; council members said staff counsel and the ordinance author would complete outstanding edits before the item returns to the agenda.
The council then voted to enter a short closed session and adjourned after reconvening.
