The Mamaroneck Town Board handled a series of routine and administrative votes at its July 15 meeting, approving fire claims, rejecting and rebidding janitorial services bids, awarding a road-resurfacing contract and taking personnel and procedural actions.
Fire claims: The Board convened as the Board of Fire Commissioners and approved a set of certified fire-department claims totaling $23,424.52 as submitted by the fire chief.
Janitorial services: Staff reported 14 responses to a janitorial-services solicitation (TA2605) but said the range of pricing and inconsistent bidder interpretations indicated confusion in the specifications. The board voted to reject all bids and directed staff to revise the specifications and rebid the project.
Road resurfacing contract: The board approved award of the base bid for road resurfacing (TA26102026) to Laurelee (transcript spelling varies) Industries, LLC in an amount not to exceed $745,380 and authorized the town administrator to execute the agreement and related documents. The award covers multiple local streets listed in staff materials.
Local notice modernization resolution: The board adopted a resolution supporting state-level legislation described as the Local Government Notice Modernization and Transparency Act (assembly and senate bill numbers reported during the meeting). Staff said the change would allow posting notices on a town website and social channels in addition to newspapers if the state law permits local options.
Assessment grievance: To avoid conflicts of interest on the Board of Assessment Review, the board approved an agreement with the Town of Rye to adjudicate an assessment grievance involving relatives of the town assessor.
Personnel appointment: The board approved appointment of Chelsea Coppola as Senior Office Assistant in Recreation at an annual salary of $79,145 effective Aug. 3, 2026.
