Trustees review consent items: traffic signal invoice, boat donation and state grant resolutions

At the work session trustees reviewed several routine consent‑agenda items and grant resolutions.

Staff described an invoice from Verde to repair a damaged traffic signal at the Mamaroneck Avenue and Soundview Avenue intersection and said insurance would be pursued; staff indicated the signal remained operable and the repair could wait until the Aug. 10 meeting. Trustees agreed to place the invoice on the Aug. 10 agenda for action.

The board also discussed accepting a donated boat for parks and recreation and the marine education center. Staff reported an annual insurance cost estimate of $4.81. Trustees raised questions about intended uses, vehicle/asset assessments and winter storage; staff said the rec program and marine education center would make use of the boat and that storage should not be a significant additional cost.

Finally, staff (Dennis) summarized state grant applications and local match obligations: a Climate Smart Communities grant (project estimate $297,275 with a 20% local match), an LWRP grant (estimate $192,625 with a 25% match) and two MS4 planning grants (one $36,000 with 10% match; another $173,880 where out‑of‑pocket cost was reported as $98,880 due to grant caps and anticipated product costs). Staff said the grant resolutions were on the board’s legislative agenda for the evening and confirmed the village can use non‑state matches if available.

What’s next: These items are included on the Aug. 10 legislative agenda for formal action; staff will pursue insurance and vendor coordination on the traffic signal repair and proceed with grant submittals where appropriate.
