Commission to circulate draft support letters for LWRP and related grants; members to respond by deadline

During administrative business the commission discussed a proposed update to the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) and three related grant opportunities: an LWRP grant, a Climate Smart Communities grant, and a nonpoint-source/MS4 planning grant. Counsel (speaker 9) offered to draft short support letters on behalf of the commission and circulate them to members for review; commissioners agreed to review drafts on commission letterhead and indicated that, absent objections, staff could consider silence as acceptance ahead of the application deadline.

The commission asked staff to circulate the drafts promptly so members can provide comments before the submission cutoff. Chair (speaker 2) encouraged commissioners to volunteer for an ad hoc committee to assist with the LWRP update and letters.
