The City of Fremont Utility and Infrastructure Board unanimously recommended that the City Council authorize three contract actions at its July 14, 2026 meeting in City Council Chambers.
The board voted 5-0 to recommend a $5,915 contract with Thiele Geotech for ground-penetrating radar services along the 5th Street drainage ditch from Clarmar to Howard Street, after Anna Allen, the city engineer, gave an overview and answered questions. Member Fryklind moved the recommendation and Member Bolton seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The board also voted 5-0 to recommend the Mayor execute a Service Agreement with Great Plans Communications to install a fiber-optic connection at the John C. Fremont Park Amphitheater. Chris Gunderson, director of information systems, presented the proposal; Member Wilson moved the recommendation and Member Bolton seconded.
A separate unanimous vote recommended City Council authorize a four-year uniform rental agreement with Cintas at $78,373.88 per year. Dean Kavan, store supervisor, presented the item. Member Bolton moved the recommendation; Member Taylor seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda, adopting the minutes from June 30, 2026 and approving accounts payable through July 14, 2026. Member Bolton moved to approve the consent items and Member Fryklind seconded; the vote was 5-0.
During a General Manager update, Jenn Nabb provided a brief finance and accounting overview; no formal action resulted from that update. The meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
The board's recommendations will be forwarded to the Fremont City Council for final approval.
