Commissioner David Desiderato presented Technical Assessment studies for Granby Town Hall and school buildings and said the documents had been obtained for the Commission’s review.
Commissioner Kara Marshall said Mike Walsh reported he intends to present Town Hall building projects as part of the town’s small capital budget for fiscal year 2028. Commissioners said the status of school-related projects is unclear but discussed whether geothermal systems and more intensive energy-efficiency measures could be incorporated into a Middle School renovation.
The Commission assigned several follow-ups: Marshall will investigate the status of no-cost weatherization projects and school projects and explore New Construction funding opportunities for the Middle School; Kent McCord will share school-building information with the Public Buildings Commission; and McCord will hand off the renewables project to Commissioner Zach Donais.
No formal vote or commitment to install renewables was taken; the discussion focused on reviewing assessment materials and coordinating next steps with the town’s capital budgeting and buildings staff.
