The Conservation Commission approved the May 12 and June 9, 2026 meeting minutes after a motion by Commissioner David Desiderato and a second from Commissioner Kent McCord.
Commissioner Zach Donais reported that Will Madsen could not attend the meeting and would provide a composting update by email; Donais added that the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) is expected to open a grant-call before year-end.
Donais also shared a draft of the town’s Plan of Conservation & Development and invited commissioners to send feedback to Abby Kenyon; the plan will be discussed at upcoming Planning & Zoning meetings. Commissioner David Desiderato was assigned to research sustainability fairs held in Simsbury and Suffield for ideas relevant to Granby.
Commissioner Kent McCord announced his resignation from the Conservation Commission because of increased responsibilities on the Board of Finance and Public Buildings Commission; commissioners thanked him for his service. Commissioner Kara Marshall reported that Ruth Zafian has been confirmed as a new member and invited others to contact her about interest in serving.
The meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m.; minutes were prepared by Kara Marshall on July 14, 2026.
