Volo trustees back phased Municipal Complex improvements; rink and plaza slated for FY 2026–27

At a March 28 special meeting, the Volo Board of Trustees reviewed plans and cost estimates for upgrades at the Municipal Complex, including an ice-skating rink, plaza, pavilion and playground amenities. Trustees reached consensus to proceed with site work and utilities, the ice-skating rink and the plaza in fiscal year 2026–27, and to defer the pavilion and landscaping to fiscal year 2027–28.

Village Administrator May presented updated concept plans and representative examples of playground equipment and site amenities, and indicated final concept plans would be available for public comment by the fall. The minutes state construction is likely to be phased over the next five to six years, beginning in FY 2027–28.

The board reviewed these capital improvement projects for inclusion in the draft FY 2026–27 budget. The minutes do not specify estimated costs, funding sources, or construction contractors. Trustees did not receive public comment at the meeting.
