The Town of Clinton Planning Board unanimously adopted a resolution July 7 recommending that the building inspector issue a permit to demolish an existing trailer on the Popolo/Scala front lot.
Applicant representative Dennis Loveland (speaker 4) said the parcel next door had been purchased and the trailer there was "at best, unlivable"; the owner plans to clear the lot and merge it with the adjacent property. Loveland described demolition logistics: the trailer will be removed in multiple dumpsters rather than towed because it no longer has wheels.
Board discussion confirmed the planning board’s role is advisory for demolition permits; the recommendation sends the matter to the building inspector for permit issuance. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved and seconded and carried by vocal/roll call vote with no opposition.
Quote: Dennis Loveland (speaker 4) said the owners "just wanna get rid of the trailer, get the lot cleaned up, and do improvements on the property."
Next step: the applicant will pursue the building-inspector permit process after the board's recommendation.
