The Post Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District voted unanimously Dec. 6 to transfer $10,000 from net income to the district’s Designated - Dam/Gates Repairs account and to reimburse the Town of Elcho up to $2,000 for legal services related to a proposed wake-sport ordinance.
Treasurer Tim Prunty presented year-to-date financial results showing total assets of $79,847.97 and net income of $41,794.41. District bookkeeper Steve Brettingen recommended increasing the designated Dam/Gates line to ensure funds are available for anticipated repairs; commissioners approved a motion to transfer $10,000 on Dec. 31, 2025, bringing that line to $20,000.
During discussion of wake-sport rules, Chair John Steber said Elcho’s town attorney advised delaying action because of a threatened lawsuit from a small group identified as the Elcho Schoepke Watersports Alliance. The commissioners voted to recommend that the Town of Elcho’s lawyers meet with counsel for the Last Wilderness Alliance and approved reimbursing Elcho up to $2,000 for those legal consultations; the motion passed unanimously.
No formal budget ordinance was adopted; both measures were motions recorded in the meeting minutes. The district also approved the Treasurer’s report at the meeting. The next district meeting is scheduled for March 21, 2026, at the PLIA Building.
