Norfolk EDC approves June minutes, plans fall speaker series and assigns follow-up tasks

The Norfolk Economic Development Commission met July 9, 2026, at the Norfolk Hub and approved the minutes from June before moving on to administrative updates and planning for the fall.

The meeting, called to order at 5:03 p.m., recorded six members present: Sue Frisch, Peter Aziz, Libby Borden, Bonnie Pritzker, Brett Robbins (via Zoom) and Cheryl Heller, who chaired the session. The commission unanimously approved the June minutes; the minutes do not record a mover or seconder.

Members received an update on the close of the fiscal year; the minutes note the update without listing financial figures. Libby Borden reported that she is updating the EDC's list of Norfolk businesses with the information currently available to the commission. The group agreed to launch a speaker series this fall aimed at providing useful information to Norfolk businesses and fostering community support; members will continue planning via email and expect to hold talks at either the library or the Norfolk Hub.

The commission decided not to pursue a "Norfolk Night" at the Five Points Art Center in August due to crowded calendars. The minutes record discussion of the town's Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) and the list of goals assigned to the EDC that remain incomplete; Cheryl Heller, the commission chair, will contact Chris Schaut, chair of Norfolk Planning & Zoning, to begin coordinating progress on those items.
