The Wylie Public Arts Advisory Board on July 16 elected a chair and vice chair for the 2026–27 year and approved its May 21 meeting minutes.
Robert Heath nominated Gloria for chair; the nomination was seconded and the board voted to appoint Gloria Suarez as chair, with five members voting in favor and two members recorded as not voting after a voting‑pad issue. Board members worked through a brief technical problem with the electronic voting pads during the roll call and then proceeded with the vote. "The motion passes," a meeting official declared after votes were recorded.
For vice chair, a nomination for Bobby Heath was made and seconded; that nomination also passed with the same voting pattern recorded (five in favor, two not voting). The board then moved to approve the minutes from its May 21 meeting; the motion to approve passed with five votes recorded and two members not voting.
Robert Heath made the motion to adjourn; another member seconded and the board adjourned after a recorded vote that passed.
All officer elections and the minutes approval were routine procedural items. Members noted the voting pad malfunction during chair voting and completed votes by re‑casting and confirming results before moving on to the next agenda item.
