Board approves Class B liquor license for Bridal Oyster Social in Ocean Pines

The Worcester County Board of License Commissioners on July 15 approved a new Class B (beer, wine and liquor) seven‑day license for Bridal Oyster Social, a proposed oyster‑center restaurant at 11310 Manklin Creek Road in Ocean Pines.

Applicants Lee Nardys and Susan Nardys described the concept as “an oyster‑centric raw bar” with exhibition shucking and a menu of roughly 10–12 oyster varieties alongside steaks, chicken, pasta and sandwiches. “We are an oyster center restaurant,” said Susan Nardys, who told the board the venue will include about 102 seats at tables and 24 seats at an expanded bar area.

The applicants said they will employ TAM‑certified servers and that at least one certified server will be on the premises whenever alcohol is served. The board marked the menu and floor plan as exhibits and confirmed that the space previously held a license. The applicants requested two weekly happy‑hour periods and said they do not seek off‑sale privileges or on‑site pool tables or gaming.

Board members reviewed operating hours and server training requirements and asked the applicants to provide copies of TAM certification. The board approved the license application with the restrictions discussed at the hearing (no off‑sale, no pool tables/games, and adherence to the board’s rules and regulations), with the condition that the applicants deliver the requested certificates and any other outstanding documentation to staff before final licensing.

The applicant estimated a Labor Day–era opening; a precise opening date was described as “first part of September” at the hearing. The board concluded the agenda item after the motion carried by the members present.

Next steps: applicants must deliver server certificates and comply with standard health and fire inspections before the license is issued.
