Scott County board unanimously agrees to intervene in IUC review of CIPCO’s Hickory Grove project

Several residents urged the Scott County Board of Supervisors on July 14 to intervene in an Iowa Utilities Commission review of Central Iowa Power Cooperative’s proposed Hickory Grove Generation Station, and the board voted unanimously to do so.

Linda Golinghorst of Dixon, Molly Regan of Bettendorf, Jerry Moore of Eldridge and online participant Katie Madden each addressed the board during public comment asking the county to join the docket before the IUC (docket GCU-2026-0001). County Administrator Mahesh Sharma and Planning and Development Director Greg Schaapveld reviewed the current status and timeline of the IUC proceeding for the board.
