The Hardy County Schools board approved a first reading to update the district organizational chart to reflect recently vacated positions, the board chair said during the meeting.
The Superintendent explained the changes, saying the assistant superintendent and legal counsel positions are no longer in place and the chart was revised to remove those roles. "We did not replace the assistant superintendent position," the Superintendent said, adding that support staff and supervisory lines were adjusted so the superintendent now oversees the areas previously covered by that post.
The Superintendent said the legal-counsel position and its secretary were also removed from the chart and that reporting lines under the director of human resources and attendance were updated to reflect current staffing. "Those are the changes that were made to that," the Superintendent said.
The Chair called for a voice vote to approve the organizational chart for first reading. Multiple board members responded "aye"; the Chair recorded the motion as carried and stated the item will go out for first reading. The transcript records a voice vote; no roll-call or member-by-member tally was provided.
The board did not record additional amendments during the meeting; the matter proceeds to its next procedural step on the board's agenda.
