Waterford commission concurs that 21 Sixth Avenue proposal is not regulated activity

The Waterford Conservation Commission on July 9 concurred with town staff that a building permit application for 21 Sixth Avenue does not constitute regulated activity under the town’s inland wetlands rules.

Maureen Fitzgerald, the town’s environmental planner, provided an overview of the application, which proposes demolition of an existing attached garage and construction of an addition and new garage. Fitzgerald told the Commission there is no proposed change to the site grade and that the new construction would be 45 feet from the on‑site wetland channel. After staff’s presentation, the Commission recorded concurrence with the staff finding; the minutes show the action carried 5‑0.

The Commission’s concurrence means no further inland wetlands permit requirement was recorded for this proposal at the July 9 meeting. Any future changes to the plan that alter distance to the wetland or the grade would require reassessment.
