The Waukesha Water Utility Commission voted unanimously to approve a developer‑funded water main extension and developers agreement for County Crest Lane at no cost to the utility.
Staff described a request from developer David Smart for roughly 550 feet of 8‑inch PVC and 320 feet of 12‑inch PVC to connect along County Crest and stub to a potential future development lot. Staff said the area includes two separate pressure zones and that the extension does not complete a full loop now but sets up a future loop when Maple Way connects to existing mains.
Staff noted the proposed agreement is the utility’s standard 12‑month developers agreement with no exceptions. Commissioners had no questions and approved the agreement unanimously.
The commission’s approval means the utility will not bear construction costs for the extension; the developer’s design will need to account for the local pressure zone transitions and future looping when adjacent streets are developed.
