Superintendent Dave Harper told the board he has engaged Johnson Controls to investigate HVAC balancing issues at the high school and that he is obtaining a quote to repaint the corridor connecting buildings.
High School Principal Heather Rosewall reported she is developing an onboarding document for new teachers, that MAPS growth rostering is being set up, and that the 2026–27 schedule is complete and ready for rollover.
Elementary Principal Seth Milledge said online registration will open next week and that July purchases have been completed. Milledge said he is seeking a Dell quote for Chromebooks, that elementary office flooring has been completed, VIPS will install cabinets soon, and that Phase 3 of the playground work will begin July 20 after dirt work and concrete borders are placed.
Activity Director Dan Stout reported on FFA preparations for area and state fairs, noted the baseball team finished 3rd in the conference at 11–8 with player honors for Blake Baker (first team), Bryce Horras (first team) and Jackson Vittetoe (honorable mention), and announced the Keota softball team won the conference championship for the first time in 36 years. Stout also said the district was approved for a grant to help pay for a Hudl account for the 2026–27 season.
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Aug. 13 at 6:00 PM in the high school student lounge and then moved into a work meeting to focus on facilities improvements.
