Quartzsite council adopts final fiscal year 2026-27 budget

The Quartzsite Town Council on July 14 completed a final public hearing and adopted the town's fiscal year 2026-27 budget, passing what staff described as the town's legal spending authority for the year.

Finance staff told the council that the town fulfilled Arizona statutory notice requirements, posting the budget for public inspection at Town Hall, the library and online and advertising the hearing in the local paper. "The final budget establishes the town's legal spending authority for fiscal year 26-27 and is consistent with the adopted tentative budget," staff said.

Council moved the resolution to adopt the final budget (resolution referenced in the meeting materials as 26-27). The motion was seconded and approved by roll-call vote with all members present voting in favor.

The adoption followed a series of public budget workshops held earlier in the year and a tentative budget previously adopted on June 23. Finance staff indicated the final document reflected department requests, capital and one-time purchases and adjustments made during those workshops.

Council members noted the availability of the budget and related audits on the town website for residents seeking more details. The council recessed briefly to a special meeting to complete the formal vote and then reconvened for regular business.
