The Quartzsite Common Council voted to adopt the town's final budget for fiscal year 2026-27, approving Resolution No. 26-07 and the accompanying expenditure limitation.
Staff told the council the budget hearing met Arizona public-notice requirements and that the budget had been made available for public inspection at town facilities and on the town website. Finance staff summarized that the final budget is consistent with the tentative budget the council adopted on June 23 and that the town posted required notices in the River Cities newspaper.
No members of the public requested to speak at the hearing. After closing the public hearing, the council recessed to a special meeting to consider final adoption. A council member moved to adopt Resolution No. 26-07; the motion received a second and was carried by roll-call vote, with the clerk recording ayes from the members present. The council then reconvened the regular meeting.
The town manager and finance staff said the final budget establishes Quartzsite's legal spending authority for FY2026-27 and discussed routine audit posting requirements; staff confirmed the audit is the statutory annual audit and that the town posts audit documents on the website for public view and for grant eligibility. The council noted sales-tax growth over the last decade as a driver of fiscal stability.
Action taken: Resolution No. 26-07 adopting the final budget and the expenditure limitation for fiscal year 2026-27 was approved and became effective upon adoption. The council did not receive any public opposition during the hearing.
The council moved on to other agenda items after the vote; no additional public hearings on the budget were scheduled at the meeting.
