Fleming County Fiscal Court approves routine financial reports, agreements and grant authorizations; discusses Vertical Bridge options

The Fleming County Fiscal Court on July 14 approved a series of routine financial and administrative items, authorized grant applications and transportation funding documents, and approved an engineering study agreement for Park IV. The court’s approvals were unanimous among magistrates present; County Judge/Executive John Sims Jr. was absent.

Key approvals included the monthly and quarterly financial reports through June 30, 2026 reporting total funds of $1,648,937.83 (General Fund $521,512.02; Road Fund $86,460.73; Jail Fund $26,763.83; LGEA Fund $335,480.20; Forest Fire Fund $357.21; Opioid Fund $325,234.83; Dispatch Fund $48,416.49; Clerk’s Storage Fund $11,376.33; ABC Funds $65,668.39; Capital Improvement Fund $227,667.80). The court also approved Budget Transfers #14 (polled action effective June 30, 2026), the FY2025-2026 Annual Financial Statement, cash transfers, claims and carry-in claims reports, and a first reading of a budget amendment (Ordinance 26-1456).

The court authorized the County Judge/Executive to sign and execute Resolution 26-1454 and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Local Government Road Aid Program (LARP) funding agreement. It also approved an agreement with MSE of Kentucky to conduct the Park IV engineering study. The court granted authorization to submit grant applications under Resolution 26-1455 to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) for FY2025 and FY2026.

Magistrates discussed lease and buyout options with Vertical Bridge but took no action on that item during the meeting.
