Williamson County commissioners approve routine finance, contracts and personnel items in July 14 session

Williamson County commissioners unanimously approved a package of routine finance, contracting and personnel items at their July 14 meeting in the county's new courtroom.

County Auditor Nathan Zinsmeyer asked the court to approve two funding reports — July 7 for $846,286.57 and July 14 for $8,982,907.70 — and requested sign‑off on 12 wires and other disbursements totaling $6,194,300.95. "I'm requesting approval today for 2 funding reports," Zinsmeyer said. The court approved the reports and payments 4–0.

The court moved and approved the consent agenda (items 3–59, with four items pulled), reappointed Robert Duke Bowdish to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office Civil Service Commission for a two‑year term, and approved a variety of procurement and contract actions, including a one‑time $15,000 amendment to a professional services agreement with McAllister & Associates to cover work on a property sale.

Commissioners also ratified a class‑action service agreement with Optimum Inc., a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary, related to a metformin antitrust settlement and authorized a service level agreement with Mobile Communications America for digital camera and alarm support. The court awarded RFP 25‑82 to Stryker Sales LLC for patient cardiac care monitors for Williamson County EMS in a contract totaling about $2,015,995.59 for fiscal year 2027.

Several personnel and policy items carried unanimous approval: a policy exception to fill position PCN0719 in the general counsel's office; policy exceptions to facilitate two EMS promotions and openings for new paramedic hires; and a policy exception to allow lateral moves and an external hire in Veterans Services using surplus departmental funds.

The court also ratified hiring a law firm to represent the county and an employee in pending litigation (cause No. 252906C480), finding the services exempt from competitive‑bid requirements. Several motions directed staff to return with details, including a request to have the budget office study reinstating a pooled vehicle program for county departments.

The court adjourned after an executive session and later appointed Catherine Totti as tax assessor‑collector (formal appointment covered in a separate item).
