Cascade County approves procurement and contract slate, including $122,222 grease-interceptor award and $432,000 State Fair talent contract

Cascade County commissioners approved a slate of routine contracts and grants on July 14 and took separate votes on several procurement items.

Public Works staff recommended awarding the contract to replace the grease interceptor at the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office to Copper Creek LLC after receiving three sealed bids. Staff reported bids from Smith River Construction ($165,200), Durango’s Enterprise ($159,065.25) and Copper Creek LLC ($122,222) and recommended Copper Creek as the responsive, responsible low bidder. A commissioner moved to award the contract to Copper Creek for $122,222; the motion was amended to correct a 20-cent typo and then carried.

"Following review of submitted bid packages...we determined that Copper Creek LLC submitted a responsive and responsible bid meeting project requirements," said the staff member presenting the bid tabulation.

The board also approved Contract 26-96 to engage Lakefront Entertainment LLC (doing business as Grama Romeo Agency) as the talent-buying consultant for the 2026 Montana State Fair. Staff described a night-show lineup that includes 3rd Eye Blind, Kansas, Ian Munczyk and John Crist and said the contract guarantees $432,000 to the talent buyer in four equal payments tied to performance dates in late July. The motion to approve the contract carried.

Other consent-agenda items announced or approved included a Memorandum of Understanding for Medicare patrol services (total federal funding listed at $206,603 for the program year), an emergency-management performance grant (total project cost $113,840; county match not less than $56,920), and several Montana State Fair performer contracts and digitization and professional-service agreements that staff summarized to the board.
