During its July 2 meeting the Hendersonville City Council adopted an ordinance to annex three noncontiguous parcels totaling 0.87 acres near Flat Rock that were petitioned by Conserving Carolina and the Children and Family Resource Center.
Staff described the petition as a satellite annexation roughly 800 feet from the city limits and noted updated motion language referencing the owner organizations. Hunter Marks of Watermark Landscape Architecture, the applicant’s representative, attended and said he had no additional comments. The clerk confirmed the public hearing was advertised in accordance with North Carolina general statutes.
A council member moved to adopt the ordinance; the motion passed by voice vote ('Ayes have it'). Staff will complete the necessary administrative steps to record the annexation.
The ordinance and annexation plat were provided to council as part of the agenda packet; no members of the public signed up to speak during the hearing.
