Public Works Director Russ Paul updated the Pleasant Hill City Council on July 14 about flood response after a heavy rain event over the July 4 weekend that produced about 7 inches of rain in roughly 24 hours.
Paul described road closures and property impacts from the event and summarized staff response and recovery actions taken over the holiday weekend. He said staff will continue coordination with property owners and pursue installation of additional stream gauges along Fourmile Creek to improve monitoring and future response.
Mayor Sara Kurovski thanked staff for their emergency response and recovery efforts. Councilmember Alyson DeMoss emphasized the importance of encouraging residents to report damage so staff can track impacts and coordinate repairs.
No formal council action was required; staff will continue recovery operations and pursue monitoring and grant or funding options as appropriate.
