Board approves Wexley Development waiver with $10,000 fee; Custer abstains

Faith Bucks, chairwoman of the South Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors, moved to approve a subdivision/land-development waiver for the Wexley Development at the board’s July 14 meeting; William Bova seconded and the motion carried.

The approval is conditional on a $10,000 fee-in-lieu payment to the township and execution of the township’s standard professional services agreement. Brent Detter provided a brief overview of the Wexley proposal and the waiver request during the meeting.

Vice Chairman Jack Custer abstained from the vote, stating he had past business relationships with the developer; the minutes record the abstention but do not provide a roll-call tally. The minutes do not specify further conditions or changes to the developer’s plan.

Resident Ed Houser later raised concerns during Good and Welfare about increased traffic tied to the proposed development and asked about the timing of planned utility pole replacements. The board did not record further discussion or a separate motion addressing traffic mitigation in the minutes.

The township’s next relevant procedural step noted in the minutes is the Planning Commission review for other subdivision and land-development matters (a separate McDonald’s proposal was scheduled for July 21), but the minutes do not attach a date for any developer follow-up related specifically to the Wexley project.
